Payments

What if my company account is frozen on payment day?

A frozen or restricted company bank account — for a fraud check, a dispute, or a bank review — can stop a Direct Debit collecting even when the money is there. If that happens near a due date, act quickly on both fronts.

Tell us before the collection fails

Contact us as soon as you know the account is restricted, ideally before the due date. A failed collection triggered by a frozen account is still a failed collection, but flagging it in advance means we treat it sensibly rather than as a default. See what happens if my Direct Debit fails.

Pay from another account if you can

If the company has another usable account, you can make the payment from that by transfer to keep the schedule current — see can I pay from a different business account and how to pay while your Direct Debit is unavailable.

If the freeze will last

If the restriction is not lifting quickly and it is affecting the company's ability to pay, treat it as a cash-flow issue and talk to us about a short-term arrangement — see help if you are struggling to make a payment. Sort the banking problem in parallel; do not let silence turn a temporary freeze into arrears.

We lend only to UK limited companies and LLPs, and the loan is to the company with no director personal guarantee. As business finance arranged outside the consumer-credit regime, it is not covered by the Financial Ombudsman Service or the FSCS, though you can still raise a complaint with us and we will handle it fairly.
