How our cookies and tracking work — a plain-language guide

A cookie is a small file placed on your device by a website. Our websites use cookies for several purposes. This page explains what we use, why, and how you can control it.

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are essential for the site to function. They cannot be switched off. Examples:

  • Session cookie — keeps you signed in while you navigate the portal. Deleted when you close your browser.
  • CSRF token — a security cookie that protects form submissions from cross-site request forgery attacks.
  • Cookie preference record — stores whether you have accepted or declined optional cookies, so we do not ask you again on every visit.

Analytics cookies (optional)

These help us understand how visitors use the site — which pages are most visited, where people leave, and whether search is working well. We use this data to improve the help centre. Analytics cookies do not identify you personally. We ask for your consent before placing them.

What we do not use

  • We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies on the help centre or customer portal.
  • We do not share analytics data with advertising networks.
  • We do not use fingerprinting or other non-cookie tracking methods to identify individuals.

How to manage your cookie preferences

When you first visit our sites, you will see a cookie notice that lets you accept or decline optional cookies. You can change your preference at any time by clicking the Cookie preferences link in the footer of any page. You can also control cookies directly in your browser:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data

Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent the portal from functioning correctly. Blocking optional analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use any Credicorp service.

Third-party cookies

Some content on our websites may load from third-party providers (for example, embedded maps or analytics platforms). These providers may set their own cookies, governed by their own privacy policies. We only use third-party tools we have reviewed and consider appropriate. No third-party tool has access to your Credicorp account data.
