Support for dyslexia and reading difficulties

If you or a director at your company has dyslexia or another condition that makes reading standard documents difficult, we have several ways to make our correspondence easier to use.

Document adaptations we offer

  • Plain-language summaries — a shorter, plainer version of a longer letter or agreement, stripping out legal boilerplate and expressing the key points in simple sentences.
  • Larger-print versions — any document we send by post can be produced in a larger typeface. This is a standard option we can apply to your account permanently.
  • Read-aloud sessions — if you would prefer to hear a document read to you over the phone rather than receive it in writing, our team can arrange this for key documents such as your loan agreement.

On-screen adjustments

The help centre and portal are compatible with browser accessibility features. You can:

  • Increase the text size using your browser's zoom settings (Ctrl/Cmd + to zoom in).
  • Switch to a higher-contrast display mode in your operating system or browser settings.
  • Use text-to-speech tools built into your operating system (e.g. Narrator on Windows, Speak Screen on iOS).

How to request adapted documents

Use the Additional Support Needs form and tell us what format works best for you. We will record it on your account so future correspondence follows it automatically, without you needing to ask again.
