Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations are increasingly important to borrowers, investors, and stakeholders. Here is how Credicorp and the wider CM Beyer group approach these responsibilities.
Environmental
Credicorp is a technology-first business lender with a primarily digital operation. Our direct environmental footprint — office energy use, business travel, and equipment — is modest. We do not have a manufacturing or logistics operation. We do not currently have a net-zero target published, but we minimise unnecessary travel, operate in energy-efficient offices, and select cloud and data centre providers who publish their own environmental commitments.
In our lending, we do not apply sector-specific environmental exclusions — we lend to UK limited companies across a wide range of sectors. We do not lend to businesses involved in activities that are illegal under UK law, including environmental offences.
Social
Our social commitments include:
- Fair lending: We lend on the basis of business merit, not personal characteristics of directors. Our decision process is assessed for discriminatory outcomes.
- Accessibility: We provide accessible services for customers with a wide range of needs — see our accessibility support pages.
- Vulnerability: We have dedicated processes for businesses and directors experiencing financial difficulty, domestic abuse, bereavement, or health challenges.
- Modern Slavery: We have stated obligations under the UK Modern Slavery Act — see our modern slavery statement.
Governance
Credicorp Limited is a UK private limited company, ultimately held by CM Beyer Limited. Our governance structures include a board with defined responsibilities, internal compliance and risk functions, and external audit and legal adviser relationships. We comply with all applicable UK company law, data protection, anti-money-laundering, and financial crime obligations.
Disclosure
As a private company below the threshold for mandatory ESG reporting, Credicorp does not currently publish a standalone ESG report. We are committed to transparency about our policies and practices and welcome questions from customers and stakeholders.
