Applying

Can I apply if my company recently changed its name?

Yes. Changing your company name is routine and does not affect eligibility — the company number stays the same, and that is what really identifies you. The one thing to get right is using the current registered name so verification matches cleanly.

The number is the constant

A name change keeps your company number, trading history and track record intact — it is the same legal entity. We verify against Companies House, so use the new registered name exactly as filed — what if my company name has an unusual character — and make sure the change is recorded before you apply — what if my companys details have recently changed.

Recent, unrecorded changes cause snags

If the change has not yet updated at Companies House, a brief mismatch can slow verification — why we check Companies House. Filing promptly avoids it.

Trading names too

If you also trade under a different brand day to day, that is fine and handled separately — what if my company trades under a different name. Your history carries over regardless of the name on the door.

Apply with your current registered name.

We lend only to UK limited companies and LLPs, the loan is to the company with no director personal guarantee, and this is business finance outside the consumer-credit regime — as an exempt lender under Article 60B of the Regulated Activities Order we sit outside FCA consumer-credit regulation, so the Financial Ombudsman Service and FSCS do not apply.
