Paying the last instalment or a settlement figure is the finish line, but it is worth a final check to be certain the account is truly closed and no small residual remains. A minute now saves a surprise later.
Confirming it is done
- Check the payment was applied. Confirm the final payment shows against the account and reduced the balance to zero. See how to check whether a payment has reached us.
- Get the closing statement. Your final statement should show a zero balance and the account closed. See what your statement shows after early settlement.
- Cancel the Direct Debit for tidiness. Once you have confirmation the facility is closed, you can cancel the mandate with your bank — but only after, not before.
Keep the evidence
File the closing statement as proof the debt is discharged; a future lender or buyer may ask for it. See proving your loan balance to a third party. If an overpayment left a small credit, see getting a refund after settlement.
Credicorp lends to companies rather than to you personally, so this is business finance outside the consumer-credit regime. That does not change the practical steps below.
