Payments

How do I change which account my repayments are taken from?

Switching the account your repayments collect from is common — a bank move, a restructure, or simply consolidating accounts. Done in the right order and with a little notice, it’s seamless.

The steps

  • Add and verify the new business account in Account > Banking details.
  • Update the Direct Debit to collect from it.
  • Make sure the new account is funded for the next collection date.
  • Keep the old account open until a collection has succeeded from the new one.

Timing

A Direct Debit change needs a few days before the next collection, so switch ahead of your payment date, not the day before. The Direct Debit Guarantee protects you throughout, and you’ll get advance notice of the amount and date as usual. If a collection is already in flight, it may take from the old account once more — keep it funded until you see the switch has landed.

Most of this is self-service in your customer portal, which is the fastest route and available at any time. Where a change needs our team to verify it, we say so and give a realistic turnaround so you can plan around it.
