Your business bank statements are one of the most important documents in your application. Clean, complete PDFs downloaded directly from your bank speed up processing. Here is how to get them from the main UK business banks.
What we need
- Last six months of statements for the account you want funds paid into.
- PDF format only — not screenshots, photos, or Excel exports.
- Complete months — each month in full, not cut off part-way through.
- The account must be in your company's name, not a personal account.
Barclays
- Sign in to Barclays Online Business Banking.
- Select the account, then choose Statements from the account menu.
- Select each monthly statement period and click Download PDF.
- Save each month as a separate PDF file.
HSBC Business
- Log in to HSBC Business Internet Banking.
- Go to Accounts → Statements.
- Select the statement period and choose PDF from the download options.
Lloyds Business
- Log in to Lloyds Business Online.
- Select the account and choose View statements.
- Select the date range and click Download, choosing PDF.
NatWest Business
- Log in to NatWest Business Online Banking.
- Go to Accounts → Statements, select the account.
- Choose the statement period and download as PDF.
Starling, Monzo, or Tide
These banks produce statements via their mobile apps or web portals. In the app, go to Account → Statements (or Documents) and export month-by-month as PDFs. Contact your bank's in-app support if the export option is not visible.
If you cannot get PDFs
If your bank only provides statements in another format, contact us before applying. We can discuss what alternatives are acceptable. You can also choose Open Banking instead of statement upload — see how Open Banking works.
