Statements

How do I get a statement that lines up with my VAT quarter?

If your VAT quarters don’t line up with calendar months, a statement that matches your exact VAT period saves you slicing figures out of two documents. You can set a custom date range so the statement covers precisely the quarter you’re filing.

How to do it

  • Go to Statements > Custom date range.
  • Enter the first and last day of your VAT quarter.
  • Generate and download the statement for that exact period.

A note on VAT

Interest on a business loan is generally outside the scope of VAT, so it usually doesn’t go on your VAT return the way a standard-rated cost does — but your accountant will confirm the correct treatment for your business. The custom-range statement is there to give you clean figures for whichever return needs them; how they’re reported is a matter for your adviser.

Your facility is priced with simple interest and the figures fixed up front on your Key Information Sheet, so nothing here changes what you owe by surprise — it only changes how you view, manage or evidence it.
